1. Make sure you meet the minimum
application requirements.
2. Are you able to secure all of the
documents needed to secure a Korean work visa? Note: You’re more than welcome to send us your application before you have acquired all of the necessary documents.
3. Read through the pages of our site that offer insight about school expectations and teacher responsibilities. It’s best to familiarize yourself with the duties and obligations that are associated with the job before committing to the process. If you’re not comfortable with teacher responsibilities then chances are you’re not suited for employment in the teaching field.
4. Decide what starting dates you’ll be able to accommodate. When you fill out our online application form please indicate the absolute earliest date you will be able to leave for Korea. The Gone2Korea staff will do their best to match you with jobs that have similar starting dates. Please Note: It’s sometimes difficult to match teachers with their preferred arrival dates; therefore, having some flexibility may be required. We have positions available 12 months of the year but the majority of jobs become available at the start of each semester. Click When to Apply for more details.
5. Try to decide which employment sector, public or private, is best for you. Unfortunately we’re unable to offer you jobs from both sectors; therefore, it’s important to choose which option you’d like to pursue. For more information please visit our private English schools in Korea and public English schools in Korea pages. If you’re not sure which sector you’d like to pursue then a Gone2Korea representative will gladly discuss the options and differences with you in detail. Note: Sometimes we only have options available with certain programs; much depends on your availability and the number of applications we’re receiving.
