How Gone2Korea Operates - Company Policies And Information
|
| |
|
| |
Gone2Korea is aware of more than 120 companies that offer recruiting services to Korean schools, over 100 job boards specifically related to ESL and teaching overseas, and countless forums and blogs maintained by schools, recruiters, teachers and government offices. Sorting through these sites and information can prove difficult when every company is claiming to offer the best jobs and information.
Now we’re not going to tell you that we’re the only company with quality teaching jobs because we definitely have competitors with credible opportunities available. Alternatively, we would like to offer you some insight about our policies so you can draw your own conclusions.

What makes Gone2Korea unique in comparison to the other recruiting companies? |
| |
- Employ western and Korean staff members
- We're one of a small group of companies that have been elected by the Korean Ministry of Education
- Have staff and offices in North America and Korea
- Represent our own teachers
- Represent our own schools
- Offer pre-paid flights for private school positions
- We don’t ask teachers to send us their documents before they’ve secured a position, thus locking them into using our services only and potentially missing out on better offers from different companies

How does Gone2Korea handle problems or complaints from teachers? |
| |
We’re proud to say that we rarely have complaints from the teachers we work with. As mentioned on Gone2Korea's Profile page, we’ve spent numerous years building healthy relationships with Korean schools that we now know and trust. In the unfortunate event that something unexpected should happen during your contracted term, trust that Gone2Korea will handle your concern or complaint with interest. If the complaints are legitimate then one of our senior staff will do whatever possible to help diffuse the situation and/or provide direction and advice to have the problem taken care of in a timely manner. |

Does Gone2Korea screen schools? |
| |
|
| |
Of course! Unlike many of the smaller western based companies which depend on Korean partner companies to provide them with school contacts, Gone2Korea does 80% of our school sourcing in house. Meaning, Gone2Korea staff members are responsible for developing new clients (schools) and managing existing ones. When we contact new schools or when new schools contact us, we speak directly with the school management, ask questions about the schools history, working environment and curriculum, request current western teachers contact information and Google the schools name and location information to make sure there haven’t been any major complaints from teachers who were previously employed. When possible we also visit the schools in person to meet the staff, take photos of the facilities and introduce ourselves to the management. Note: it’s not possible for us to visit every school we represent although we do our best to visit as many as possible. |

Does Gone2Korea screen teachers? |
| |
|
| |
Of course! All teachers who submit an application to Gone2Korea will be expected to speak with one of our senior staff members before any job offers are presented. Similar to how teachers expect us to present them to credible schools, our schools also expect us to present them with credible teachers. |

Pushing teachers into specific positions and pushing specific teachers on schools |
| |
|
| |
We don’t push teachers into positions and we don’t push teachers on our school clients. We strongly believe that teachers and schools should make their own decisions based on the information we provide. We do our best to provide accurate and honest information to both parties then let them make the decisions on their own. After all, having an employee who is unhappy with their employer or an employer who is unhappy with their employee is not in anyone’s interests. If you’re having doubts or reservations then we expect you to voice your concerns to the Gone2Korea representative you are working with.

Problems or issues with the Gone2Korea representative you’re working with |
| |
|
| |
If you have any problems with your Gone2Korea representative, or feel that you’ve been treated unfairly, then we encourage you to contact Gone2Korea’s management. We have specific policies in place to ensure teachers are treated fairly and we will address your complaints objectively. |

Does Gone2Korea have any hidden fees? |
| |
|
| |
No, we do not charge you for our services. We receive a one time placement fee from the school you have chosen to work for. The only fees you will be expected to cover are those associated with obtaining and mailing your documents to the various offices and the processing fees each office requires. |
| |
|
| |
If you choose to go with another recruiter then we wish you luck, but remember not to give them any money for their services (except for courier fees), you are the asset! And remember if they guarantee everything then it's not the truth, there will always be little things, with any agency including ours that will be different upon arrival. The key is to minimize these things by learning as much as possible about your school, recruiter and location before you sign the contract. |
