Jeollabuk Do has a total population that hovers around the 2 million marker with about 11,000 foreigners living and working within the province's cities. The wester part of the province is on the coast and the East side of the province sits amongst the mountainous ranges of Sobaek, the Noryung Mountains and the Jinan basin. There are 105 islands off the mainland of Jeollabuk, 80 of which are inhabited. The province is known for its abundance of merchants who sell jewlery, ceramics, woodenware and bamboo fans.
